PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers return home this week for a four-gamehomestand complete with one-of-a-kind promotions and events, beginning Friday,August 11, and concluding Monday, August 14.
The Beavers will pay tribute to Rodney McCray's famous crash through the Flav-R-Pacsign in right-center field with "Rodney McCray Bobblefence Night" when the teamplays host to the Tacoma Rainiers, Saturday, Aug. 12. Gates open no earlier than 6p.m. for the special event, which is presented by Liquid Planet Organic Coffee, andthe one-of-a-kind collectibles will be limited to the first 2,000 fans through thegates. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
McCray will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, meet and greet fansin attendance and sign autographs on the main concourse at PGE Park, known as CivicStadium when the speedy outfielder went through the wall. In honor of McCray, theBeavers will dedicate right-center field as "McCray Alley."
"Strike Out Breast Cancer," presented by Health Net and The Susan G. KomenFoundation, will return for Sunday's game against the Rainiers. The Beavers will bewearing special pink-ribbon uniforms to help raise breast cancer awareness. A silentauction will be held for the unique jerseys before and during the game, with thejersey being presented to the winning bidders after the game. All proceeds from theauction will go to benefit the Komen Foundation.
Former Portland mayor Vera Katz, who battled breast cancer while in office in 2000,will be on hand to throw out the first pitch and join other cancer survivors in aspecial pre-game ceremony on the field.
The first 2,000 fans through the gate will receive a special pink baseball, courtesyof Health Net.

The Beavers host FOX 12 and PDX 49 Family Friday presented by Radio Disney. Clownsand face-painters will be roaming the concourse to entertain fans and severalfamilies will be selected to play catch on the field before the game. It is alsoComcast Latino Night presented by FOX Sports en Espanol, with seat cushions givenout to the first 2,000 fans and special Hispanic promotions featured during thegame.

Rodney McCray makes his first appearance at PGE Park since he crashed through theoutfield wall in 1991 as he helps the Beavers to celebrate 'Rodney McCrayBobblefence Night'. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive theone-of-a-kind collectible, courtesy of Liquid Planet, and McCray will be availableto meet fans and sign autographs. McCray will also be throwing out the first pitchand part of the wall in right-center will be designated as McCray Alley. Every homeSaturday this season, the Beavers will be wearing special throwback uniforms fromthe 1956 season for Fred Meyer Retro Saturdays presented by KGON 92.3. Each SaturdayBeavers game, one lucky fan will win one of the throwback jerseys, and they will getto take the jersey home on the last Saturday, August 26.

'Strike Out Breast Cancer' presented by Health Net and The Susan G. Komen Foundationreturns to PGE Park this season, with the Beavers donning special pink-ribbonuniforms to help raise breast cancer awareness. The unique uniforms, designed byadidas, will be auctioned off during the game and given to the winning bidders rightoff the players' backs.
